My first Korean skincare product would be from Re:Cipe, name Slowganic Cleanser Adlay. They actually have three types, Lemon, Green Tea, and Adlay. I picked the Adlay because it seems like it's the safest for dry/oily sensitive skin compare to the other two, and the ingredients seems better than the cleansers I've came across (except for the Everyday Coconut
face wash I was using). I ordered it from
MemeBox, and waited on pins and needles for it to come. I picked it because of its ingredients: Camellia
Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Water, Sodium Glutamate Laurate, Glycerol,
Trehalose, Water, Betaine, Triethanolamine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl
Acrylate Crosspolymer, Peppermint Leaf Oil, Lime oil, Lemon peel oil,
Basil oil, Orange oil , Ylang-ylang flower oil, Geranium flower oil,
Job's tears seed extract, Green tea seed oil, Evening primrose oil,
Camellia oil, Macadamia seed oil, Barley seed oil, Brazil nut seed oil,
Sweet almond oil, Argan tree kernel oil, Olive oil, Sunflower seed oil,
Jojoba seed oil, Rosemary leaf water, Matricaria flower water,
Grapefruit peel oil, Horse chestnut seed extract, Ammonium Lauryl
Sulfate, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric triglyceride, Ethylhexylglycerin,
Ethanol, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methyl paraben, Benzyl
alcohol, Dehydroacetic acid, Caramel. Most of these things are better than anything American products have in their list. There's the Methylparaben, and I think I'm going to switch this out for another product, but I didn't see the full list of ingredients until a few hours before this post, and by then it's too late XD Well, Methylparaben can be a skin irritant if use in very large dosage, and the amount contains in skincare products is (usually) smaller than the 0.1%, so it should be safe, but I'm going to find something different in the future.
It took a few days (to which I've been complaining much about the uber slow processing speed of MemeBox), and I was excited as a kid with a tube of ice cream when it came. I wasn't sure that to expect, though I did see most of the reviews was good, so I was looking forward to trying it out.
The jar is 3.5ish ounces, and doesn't contain much, but you only need a small amount, something like a penny or less. The first time, I gobbed a big piece of it, and ended up looking like a Votan binging on white face cream.
The texture is very similar to cream cheese, with a spongy feel to it. It came with a small spatula, and I'd recommend using it to help you feel less gross (both from putting your fingers in a jar and feeling the weirdy texture of the cleanser.
It feels like putting some cold paste on your face, so be warn. It also doesn't smell much, but it has a hint of plastic-y to it. No nice scented cream for you. I think it's more similar to how rice dough would smell. The scent isn't strong, though, so I can ignore it.
However, it's annoying to wash out. You're supposed to put it on your face without wetting it first, so it feels a little like a mask, but don't leave it on for long or it will dried up and make your face feels tight (not the good kind of tightness so, really, don't leave it on for long).

You can use a penny amount, or you can use a lot, it's up to you. But it does nothing more for you as a thick glob on your face, and washing it out is pretty annoying. This thing gets slimey and a little bubbly when coming in contact with water, so I really wouldn't recommend a big amount. The first time I use it, I did use about two knuckles' worth, and it's hard to wash off. Not to mention, the thing bubbled all over my eyes and face and I almost suffocated. Had to wash it with a lot of water and a long while to get it all off of my face. I'm not really sold on this.
It cleanses well, I think, though I have not wear makeup lately, so I can't say if this thing take the makeup off well. My skin haven't feel anything different, so I'm a bit disappointed with this product. Adding in the Methylparaben....Well, time to look for another type of Korean cleansers (the sky's the limit, right?), and going back to using my Coconut Cleanser meanwhile.
